How Vampit works

Launch a token on Solana. Then anyone who holds it can burn some to change its name, ticker, image, and links.

Launch a token

  1. Pick a name, a ticker, an image, and optionally a description and links on the Create page.
  2. Set the mutation price: the number of tokens that someone must burn to change your token. It can be 100K to 20M tokens (0.01% to 2% of the supply). Nobody can change it later, not even you.
  3. Optionally, make a dev buy. You buy first, in the same transaction as the launch, so no bot can buy before you.
  4. Approve the transaction in your wallet. Your token is live.

Every token has a supply of 1,000,000,000. Nobody can mint more or freeze anyone's tokens. A launch costs a 0.02 SOL creation fee plus Solana's normal account costs.

Mutate a token

Any wallet that holds the mutation price can burn it to change the token. One mutation can change one or more of these: the name, the ticker, the image, the description, the X link, and the website.

  • The burn and the change happen in one transaction. If the burn fails, nothing changes.
  • Burned tokens are gone for good, so every mutation makes the supply smaller.
  • There is no allowlist and no waiting time. Anyone can mutate, as often as they like.
  • The token page shows every past mutation, with the old and the new values.
Bob launches $MEME with a mutation price of 5M. Alice burns 5M $MEME and renames it to $XYZ. The token is now $XYZ everywhere.

Trading and graduation

Each token trades on a Meteora bonding curve from the moment it launches. The price goes up as people buy. When the curve fills (about 85 SOL raised), the token graduates: its liquidity moves to a Meteora pool and is locked forever.

Vampit has no swap of its own. Buy and sell on any Solana trading site, for example Jupiter.

Fees

  • Each trade pays a 1% fee. The creator gets 60% of it, Vampit 20%, and Meteora 20%.
  • After graduation, the creator gets 75% of the fees that the locked liquidity earns.
  • Creators claim their fees from their profile page.

Good to know

  • Anyone can change a token's name and image. Always check the mint address, not only the name.
  • Wallets and explorers can show the old name and image for a while after a mutation.
  • Vampit does not filter images, text, or links.
